Cleaning Your Jewellery at Home
We are often asked by our clients 'how do I clean my jewellery at home?'
We have a simple solution - here are the steps below
You will need
- Washing Soda Crystals (found at the supermarket in the laundry isle)
- Aluminum/tin foil
- Boiling water
- A ceramic bowl
Line foil in ceramic bowl, add a tablespoon of crystals and your jewellery. Pour boiling water over the top until jewellery is submerged. Watch it fizz! Leave for 5-10 minutes then remove jewellery with a wooden or plastic spoon. Run jewellery under clean warm water, dry and rub with a soft cloth.
For an ultra clean, after the washing soda bath and dry, use a little Brasso on your soft cloth to give your jewellery the ultimate refresh! Brasso will clean all rings, chains, bangles - Gold or Silver.
DO NOT put your pearls anywhere near these products - give them a rub over with a clean soft cloth, dampened with clean water if needed, and that should do the trick to clean them up.
Pearls are sensitive to products - including perfumes and moisturisers. Refrain from using any cleaning solutions on them as this will very likely damage the surface of the pearl and ruin their lustre.
